Nashville, TN -
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Keith (Ashlee) Whitley are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jackie Keith ” Tuff ” Whitley II. Tuff made his appearance into this world on Sunday, July 8,2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Tuff weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long.
The happy grandparents of Tuff are Jim and Kelli Hewitt of Lancaster, MN and Randy and Lorrie (Morgan) White, of Lebanon, TN. Tuff has some proud Great-Grandparents too. They are Ms.Faye Whitley of Sandy Hook, KY and Ms. Anna Trainor of Madison, TN.
If genetics play a part in music, then Tuff should someday take the world by storm. Why’s that you ask? Well, because Country Music is truly in his blood. First of all, notice his name…. Jackie Keith Whitley II. “Tuffs” grandaddy is the late, great Keith Whitley. For those of you who don’t know who that is… well ….maybe you too were just born!
Keith Whitley, in my opinion, was one of the absolute best country male vocalists of our time! Just listen to a few of his songs… “I’m No Stranger To The Rain“, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” or “Ten Feet Away“. God obviously blessed this man with golden vocal chords and an ability to deliver a performance that captivated his audience! Keith’s vocals were delivered with profound clarity … vocals so clear that you never have to guess at what word he was singing. This talented man was blessed with 19 singles on the Billboard charts, including five consecutive number ones!
Now, for those of you that are too young to know this… Mr. Whitley became one half of a country music super couple when he married the very beautiful, very talented Lorrie Morgan. Lorrie is the daughter of Country Music Hall of Fame/Grand Ole Opry member George Morgan. Since making her debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage at the age of 13, Lorrie has charted more than 25 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart, including three number one hits – “Five Minutes“, “What Part of No“ and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength“.
Now, as you have probably figured out by now, Tuff’s daddy, Jesse Keith Whitley, is the son of Keith and Lorrie. Jesse is on the rise himself and forging his own path in the music world. If you have never listened to Jesse’s music, I invite you to visit www.JesseKeithWhitley.com and get to know my good friend and his music. With his new family to provide for , I am sure he would be grateful for your support!
Ok, so you are probably thinking wow! How could one baby have so much music talent in his family? Well hold on a minute… there is one person I haven’t mentioned yet… and that is Jesse’s wife and Little Tuff’s mommy… The beautiful Ashlee Hewitt Whitley (visit www.AshleeHewittBand.com).
Watch Jesse and Ashlee perform on a radio show!
Ashlee is a very accomplished singer herself, achieving success on Nashville Star and also through performing around the country. Jesse and Ashlee met while she was singing harmony for Jesse’s mom. Isn’t it amazing the way God places people in each others paths and seeing the wonderful results of His work?

Well folks, I hope you are better informed on the musical pedigree of my new Little buddy Tuff Whitley. My wife Joy Collins and I visited Tuff, his mom, and his dad yesterday at the hospital. He is a big boy and a very quiet, sweet baby.
I can’t wait for him to be out on the boat with all of us …. and in the duck blind with his daddy, Uncles T.P and Mike, my son Rob, and myself. We got a lot to tell this boy… and I bet one day he will be singing about it!
Because Music is in his blood!
Congrats Jesse and Ashlee! We love y’all!
And to my readers …Please share this great news with all of your friends!
Much Love Y’all
